লেভাজোল
Levamisole is the active laevo-isomer of tetramisole. It works by paralysing susceptible intestinal worms which are then excreted from the intestines. Levamisole also enhances cellular immune responses in humans.
ব্যবহার
নিওট্র্যাক্স এসকারিয়াসিস বা গােলকৃমি সংক্রমণে বিশেষভাবে কার্যকর। এছাড়া ইহা হুকওয়ার্ম সংক্রমণেও (এনকাইলােস্টোমায়াসিস এবং নেকাটোরিয়াসিস) ব্যবহৃত হয়। এন্টেরােবিয়াস ভার্মিকুলারিস (পিনওয়ার্ম ও সুতাকৃমি,ট্রাইচুরিস ট্রাইচিউরা, স্ট্রংগাইলয়েডস স্টারকোরালিস ও ট্রাইকোস্ট্রংগাইলাস কুলব্রিফরমিস্) প্রভৃতি জীবাণুর সংক্রমণে এর কার্যকারিতা লক্ষ্য করা গেছে।

নিট্র্যাক্স আহারের পর একক মাত্রা হিসাবে নিম্নোক্তভাবে প্রয়ােগ করা হয় রােগীর বয়স (বৎসর) ট্যাবলেটের সংখ্যা সিরাপের মাত্রা
১-৪ ১ ৫ মি.লি.
৫-১৫ ২ ১০ মি.লি.
১৬ এবং তদুর্ধ ৩ ১৫ মি.লি.
অথবা চিকিৎসকের পরামর্শ অনুযায়ী সেব্য।
পার্শ্বপ্রতিক্রিয়া
পার্শ্বপ্রতিক্রিয়া সাধারণত মৃদু ও ক্ষণস্থায়ী, যথা- বমি, বমি বমি ভাব, পেটে ব্যথা, মাথা ঝিম্ ঝিম্ ভাব এবং মাথাধরা।
সতর্কতা
গর্ভাবস্থার প্রথম ৩ মাসে একান্ত প্রয়ােজন না হলে ঔষধটি ব্যবহার না করাই ভালাে। লেভাজোল এর প্রতি অতিসংবেদনশীল ক্ষেত্রে প্রতিনির্দেশিত।
মিথস্ক্রিয়া
May increase toxicity of phenytoin. Increases bioavailability of ivermectin; decreases bioavailability of albendazole. Alcohol causes disulfiram-like reaction.
গর্ভাবস্থাকালীন ব্যবহার
Although studies in animals have shown that Levamisole produces no teratogenic effects, current medical practice requires that the benefits of any drug used during pregnancy should be weighed against the possible dangers.

There is no absolute contra-indication to the use of Levamisole
অতিরিক্ত সতর্কতা
তীব্র ওভারডোজ
Counter possible anticholinesterase activity with e.g. atropine. Control blood pressure and respiration . Do not use sedatives.
